Autumnal Weekend Art Retreat

Celebrate the Autumn season with like-minded company, painting and drawing in this inspiring and relaxed and inspiringart holiday.  Local artist Hazel Money will be tutoring a number of structured workshops for you to join, or alternatively choose to work on your own existing project.  A relaxed and creative workshop to round off your painting year.  Tutor: Hazel Money 

Workshops planned will follow this schedule: (subject to possible variation)

Friday:  Arrival and registration at 2:00pm.  Drawing and direct observation from a still life in the studio - mark making techniques and loosening your style.  Evening - relaxed optional session.

Saturday:  Lecture on a selected landscape artist from the 19th/20th Century, followed by a structured workshop inspired by the work of this painter.  We will use watercolours, acrylics or oils and also look at palette knife painting.   Evening - relaxed optional session with artistic reactions to music.

Sunday:  Mixed media, using surfaces and templates we assembled the previous day.

 

Suitable for all abilities including complete beginners.  Residential and non-residential places available.  Some materials supplied with participants bringing the painting materials they wish to use during the course.

Painting will take place in the studio with possible quick forays into the grounds of the Nightingale Centre, weather permitting!

Arrive 2 pm on Friday 28th October, departing 2 pm Sunay 30th October 2022.

Your accommodation

The Nightingale Centre at Great Hucklow, near Tideswell in Derbyshire is a spacious, warm and friendly residential centre where you will have your own single-occupancy en-suite room.  Meals are set out in the communal restaurant area and the car park is  very close-to, with access ramp.  The teaching room is light, secure and surrounded by the wonderful Derbyshire countryside.  You can choose to stay non-residential if you live locally, or prefer your own choice of accommodation (Derbyshire is full of places to stay).  Non-painting partners are also welcome, please enquire for availability and pricing options.  Different dietary options are catered for, so please advise or ask when you book your place.  We hope that you will enjoy your stay!

Fully residential places @ £369
Non-residential places @ £189 includes refreshments and lunches.
If you are a non-residential visitor and would like to stay for evening dinner and join the evening workshops, please pay a one-off supplementary £30 (payable along with course fee)
