Learn how to create a picture of your garden or all your favourite flowers.
Explore the magic of wet & needle felting by first learning about the wools and textures and how they can achieve different effects in your finished piece. Choose from lots of colourful Merino wool, silk fibres, wool curls, skeleton leaves and other fibres to create your palette for your garden picture. Learn how to layer these wools and textures to create depth and realism in your garden picture. Feel free to bring photos/magazines for inspiration, I will bring lots too. I will have lots of examples of my work to look at plus lots of experience creating floral art to help you achieve your piece.
We will spend some time wet felting the fibres together using warm soapy water and you'll learn different ways to agitate the wool to make it into a strong felt.
After lunch we'll be able to add details to our backgrounds using a single felting needle. Details may be flower centres, a bumblebee, and/or some butterflies.
The piece will be approximately A3 once felted. Display it in a frame or it could be stitched into a cushion.
About Eve Marshall:
"I teach the instant gratification of felting. The techniques I teach I have created myself so that they are achievable for anyone who comes to my workshops. I spend countless hours playing with wool and I create something at least 50 times before I teach it to people. I have been felting for over 18 years and love sharing the magic of felting!"
