Using a Key colour in Watercolours, with Paul Talbot-Greaves

This inspiring workshop will focus on colour, starting by identifying a connecting colour from your reference and using it to harmonize your painting.  We will look at combining this with a limited palette to create a painting based around a three-colour scheme.

The day will begin with a discussion about using colour and Paul will put the theory into a demonstration painting to get you inspired and ready to paint.   Afterwards, you will work on your own painting with Paul's expert guidance throughout the afternoon.

Watercolours are a wonderfully expressive medium but we often need a push to help us exploit the best qualities available to us.   In his second workshop with us this year, artist Paul Talbot-Greaves will demonstrate a series of techniques and show us how to use the connecting colour theory with watercolour paints.  Students can work on individual studies, encouraging you find ways to use colour and intensity to bring drama to our paintings.

As the day progresses you will see the work of your fellow participants develop, and have time to discuss ideas and try different techniques.
