Travels with your sketchbook
Painting holiday in Andalucia
Travels with your Sketchbook - Painting Holiday in Andalucia
June 19th to 25th 2025
6 nights stay, with 4 days of inspiring painting tuition
Join artist Hazel Money for a relaxing and inspired break in the heart of the beautiful Andalusian countryside, making trips out to explore the locality with your paints and sketchbook, sharing ideas and good company with fellow likeminded painters. With spaces on the course limited to just eight, you will be guaranteed lots of one-to-one time with your tutor, who will help you identify and realise your ambitions throughout the week.
The Sierra de Grazalema is situated in the heart of Andalusia’s mountain region, with the famous historical town of Ronda, and the beautiful lake and castle of Grazalema, Zahara, all within easy exploring distance. Your guesthouse, the Casa de los Cuadros, the “House of Pictures” is the perfect location for discovering the spectacular landscape from right outside the doorstep.
The area is a protected natural park and is on the well known Pueblos Blancos route, you will find that the village of Villaluenga Del Rosario is very much unspoilt and a quiet location for your holiday.
Using your sketchbook as a starting point, we will work both outdoors and back in the studio where you may wish to begin a larger painting or try something different from the varied surroundings. With quaint streets and stunning mountain views right on your doorstep, the charm of the locality will inspire you to be creative and experimental. With opportunities to explore the countryside and other towns nearby, you can enjoy the week’s flexibility to go sightseeing, stretch your sketching abilities, splash watercolours around or just put your feet up with a glass of wine.
Suitable for all abilities, with non-painting or sharing participants welcome (see pricing below). There will also be an area set aside in our guest house where we can continue painting or leave an easel set up.
